Swiss church sets up fund for child abuse victims
The Swiss Catholic Church has set up a commission to set financial compensation for victims of child abuse at the hands of pedophile priests.
A fund of half a million francs has been set up and a panel of six officials will examine evidence of abuse before setting a compensation figure.
The commission has already had two letters from possible victims.
The amount of compensation could vary – up to CHF 20,000 for the most serious of offences.
