The 51 year old from Zeiningen says he didn’t see the 2 girls, aged 7 and 11 and a 14 year old boy before they hit the truck. The farmer says the first he knew was when he heard a massive bang.

The farmer is also a volunteer firefighter and gave first aid to the children before the emergency services arrived. The children were taken to hospital, the girls have since been released – but the boy is still being treated. The farmer believes the boy was traveling the fastest and hit the car first.

The man says he couldn’t have done anything to avoid the accident as the children hit the vehicle side on. Police are investigating the accident.
