Chinese president to speak at WEF in Davos
This year’s World Economic Forum meeting in Davos aims to persuade world leaders to be more responsible and responsive to people’s needs.
The 47th meeting will also be the first to be addressed by the Chinese president. Xi Jinping is expected to use the platform to highlight the Chinese position as a global economic superpower and urge the United States to withdraw from its traditional position of the post war superpower.
China is seeking to have more influence on the global stage.
The president will speak at the opening sessions.
The World Economic Forum starts in Davos on the 17th January.
