National News // Dec. 5, 2016

The Nez-Rouge driving service is starting. Drivers were operating in some cities this weekend – but the service will be running nationwide from next weekend.

Nez Rouge, translated as Red Nose, provides volunteer drivers to take you home in your own car if you feel you’re not safe to get behind the wheel.

The service has been running since 1990 and last year organizers say they transported 90,000 people over the festive period last year.

The idea started in Canada – where it still thrives – and was brought over to this country by a Swiss doctor.

If you’d like someone to drive you home after a party this Christmas, you can call Nez Rouge on 0800 802 208.
