Swissair building sold
One of the last assets of the defunct airline – Swissair – has been sold.
The Centre Swissair – next to Geneva Airport – has been sold to the airport.
Swissair, Switzerland’s former flag carrying airline, collapsed with massive debts in 2001.
An airport spokesman says the purchase is a good deal for the airport as it needs more space for administrative staff.
The airport already rents some space in the building.
IATA are based in a building next door - but that is separately owned by the international organisation.
