Dogs trained to search for missing persons will now be assisted by drones.

Equipped with thermal cameras and night vision the drones will increase the effectiveness of search dog brigade.

Around 3,000 people are reported missing each year in Switzerland, and the Swiss Society for search and rescue dogs (REDOG) have teamed up with the Swiss civil drones (FSDC) to tackle the problem.

The training of field workers will be adapted to include drone operators and dog handlers working in teams.
