TAG Heuer wins the “Revival” award in Geneva
TAG Heuer has won an award for its reissue of the iconic Heuer Monza chronograph at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie in Geneva.
The emblematic design, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, won the award in the “Revival” category.
The Heuer Monza has been highly sought-after by collectors since 1976 when Jack Heuer, the great grandson of the founder, designed a chronograph to celebrate Niki Lauda’s first Formula 1 world championship title with Ferrari.
This year marks the return to the origins of the watch, since today’s model features two key functions – the pulsometer and the tachymeter scale – which were not included on previous reissues.
The original font, and the red hands and counters, reflect the watch’s racing heritage, while positioning it firmly as a new, contemporary design.
