Fireworks in front of the Kempinski hotel will be set off at midnight and three stages will be set up for dancing with jazz, disco and electro music until 3am.

Nearly 15,000 people attended last year. Mayor Guillaume Barazzone says it "a great success so we decided to repeat it.”

“My greatest wish as mayor is that the whole population of Geneva takes party in the celebrations."

No hard liquor will be allowed on site and there will be an ambulance and up to around 30 security officers complementing the work of the cantonal and municipal police.

The associations Carrefour Addictions and Nuit Blanche will also be there to deal with any drug taking.
