Refugees from Greece come to Switzerland
Switzerland has hosted 28 refugees from Greece for the first time as part of the European relocation program.
The State Secretariat for Migration say the refugees
were transferred from Greece to Switzerland "at the end of last week.”
Twelve hundred asylum seekers from Italy are already in Switzerland. The first ten arrived in early May.
The delay in receiving refugees from Greece is mainly due to the "registration centres” which were set up more quickly in Italy than in Greece.
All refugees into Switzerland must follow a strict asylum procedure, but the chances of their asylum application being accepted are high.
Switzerland, which is participating in the European program of relocation of refugees, has agreed to host 1,500 refugees.
