World's shortest international flight from Switzerland launched
The world's shortest international flight lasting just EIGHT minutes has been launched by an Austrian airline bringing passengers across the border from Switzerland to Germany.
The plane journey by People's Air whisks passengers from St Gallen to Friedrichshafen in Germany - just 13 miles away across Lake Constance.
Alternatively, travellers could drive 40 miles between the two airports by car, or sit through a two-hour lakeside train ride.
But the trip, which costs CHF42 has also attracted criticism for the amount of fuel it consumes for such a short trip and the noise pollution during the twice daily take off's and landings.
