Switzerland's first hydrogen filling station inaugurated

Switzerland's first hydrogen filling station inaugurated

Switzerland's first hydrogen filling station has been inaugurated by Coop in Hunzenschwil (AG).

The hydrogen will be produced by a hydropower plant in Aarau, a few kilometers from the petrol station and won't emit any CO2.

New hydrogen filling stations are planned in other parts of Switzerland if the demand for fossil fuels continues to fall.

Twelve cars have already been filled at the station and will be available to local Coop employees for business trips.

A truck has also been filled and will be used for deliveries in the region.
