Hundreds of post offices to close in Switzerland
At least 500 post offices are to close across Switzerland as part of a major restructuring.
Currently there are 1,400 post offices across the country but 800 or 900 could disappear.
La Poste plans to increase the number of access points from 3,700 to at least 4,000 to compensate for the loss of the traditional post offices.
Customers will be able to access its services in shops, petrol stations and other outlets.
La Poste said in a statement that it planned to avoid any redundancies.
However, trade unions have reacted angrily, saying they fear that staff will be redeployed with less favourable pay and conditions.
