Former Swiss trade diplomat dies
The former Swiss trade diplomat Luzius Wasescha has died aged 70 of unknown causes.
The former ambassador to the WTO from 2007 to 2012 was a staunch advocate of Switzerland's entry into the European Union and regularly criticized the Swiss bilateral stance.
He was also against the vote in February 2014 to limit mass immigration.
Since 2013, Wasescha chaired the Community interest for the Swiss food industry (CISA), a lobby that is committed to an agricultural free trade agreement with the European Union (EU).
