Modern technology stresses the young
The young generation are stressed, partly due to the increasing use of smartphones and apps, and a desire to have everything all at once, according to the latest Credit Suisse Youth Barometer.
The survey, carried out in Switzerland, the United States, Singapore, and Brazil, found that today's young people want a good career and a work-life balance, and that the yearning for both is making them stressed.
It also revealed that one of the biggest concerns for 16 to 25-year-olds in Switzerland is migration. The refugee issue was highlighted as a problem for 46% of young people in the country in this year's survey, compared with 22% in the first Youth Barometer in 2010. And ‘foreigners and immigration' are a cause of concern for 45% of young people. Both of these issues top the list of Switzerland's greatest problems, according to the survey.
