Swiss health insurance premiums expected to rise by 6.5% next year
Researchers say that Swiss health insurance premiums are expected to rise on average by 6.5% next year.
The Tribune du Geneve reports that calculations by bonus.ch had at first predicted a general increase of between 4 and 5%, similar to last year's figures.
But the company had to revise their estimates because of the rising costs of health care and financial data from some insurers.
For adults on a basic health insurance policy with the minimum deductible of 300 francs, the increase was slightly below average at 5% to 6%.
But a fifth of people could see them rise as much as ten percent.
Health insurance premiums for 2017 are due to be released at the end of the month.
