New camera to stop train suicides planned
Swiss Federal Railways are to test a new type of camera on trains to prevent suicides.
The new cameras would send a signal to tell the driver to brake if unusual movement is detected near the train.
Each year more than 100 people commit suicide in front of Swiss trains and SBB has decided it needs further measures to complement awareness campaign launched a year ago.
SBB also initiated anti-suicide patrols and an advertising campaign promoting telephone help lines in 2015.
