Ticino politician accused of helping migrants illegally enter Switzerland

A politician from canton Ticino and a man from Bern have been arrested, accused of helping four young African migrants to illegally enter Switzerland.

43 year old Lisa Bosia Mirra, who is a member of the Ticino cantonal parliament and the founder of a refugee support group Firdaus, was arrested in Stabio in canton Ticino, but later released.

The 53-year-old man from Bern, who was driving the van remains in detention and an investigation has been opened.
