Swiss to axe its Geneva - Lugano service in October
Swiss will stop running its Geneva - Lugano service from this October.
The national airline is facing pressure to increase its efficiency from Cointrin as profit targets for this year have not been reached.
They have also dropped Algiers and Skopje in Macedonia from their winter flight plan for 2016/2017.
In a statement, General Manager, Thomas Klühr said Swiss plan to increase the frequency of some other flights. He stressed that the Geneva – Lugano route was heavily in deficit.
They also hope the introduction of the Bombardier C Series aircraft types in Geneva will have a positive impact.
