Driver crashes after falling asleep at the wheel near Pully-Belmont
A 49-year-old motorist is recovering after losing control of his car on the A9 motorway at Pully-Belmont, heading towards Lausanne early yesterday morning.
Police say the Spanish man, who lives in in the Canton of Vaud, had most probably fallen asleep.
His car left the road, hit the other side of the guardrail and stopped against a service building.
A passenger had to be cut out by SLPF Lausanne.
Both victims were taken by ambulance to University Hospital, suffering from minor injuries.
Traffic was disrupted as the right hand lane was closed until 8:00am .
