Two men die attempting to climb Monte Rosa

Two men have died after climbing on the south side of Monte Rosa in the northern Italian Aosta Valley.

The 4634 meter high peak is situated on the border between Switzerland and Italy and is Italy's second largest peak.

Other climbers saw the accident, that happened at an altitude of about 4000 meters and raised the alarm.

Rescue services brought the bodies down to the town of Champoluc.

It's not yet known where the climbers came from.
