Hundreds of thousands expected at 25th Zurich street parade

Hundreds of thousands of techno music fans are expected at the 25th edition of the Zurich street parade on Saturday.

Over 200 DJs will provide the music for this year's event which has the theme of the "Unique".

The parade starts at 13:00 on the Utoquai along the right bank of Lake Zurich, where 30 floats and partygoers will walk 2km to the other shore.

There will be eight stages along the route and from 22:00 there a laser show will take place in the skies over Zurich.

It's also expected to be a sunny weekend with temperatures reaching 27 degrees.

The first Street Parade took place in September 1992, attracting 1,000 spectators. In 2015, the festival was attended by a million people.
