UN Roundup - United Nations’ 75th anniversary
19 October 2020.
Rheal LeBlanc joins us for the weekly UN Roundup. This morning we take a look at:
1: The UN will hold direct, face-to-face talks between delegations of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission in Geneva beginning on 19 October, with thanks to the hospitality of the Government of Switzerland.
2: A new exhibition on Place des Nations tells the story of multilateralism in Geneva, 100 years after the city became the seat of the League of Nations. The exhibition will be there until 30 October.
3: The UN and the world gets ready to celebrate the United Nations’ 75th anniversary on Saturday 24 October, with a few initiatives taking place right here in Geneva as well as a virtual dialogue with UN Geneva Director-General, Mary Robinson, former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and Fabrizio Hochschild, Special Advisor to the Secretary-General on the commemoration of the UN’s 75th anniversary.
