UBER starts in Geneva
The smart phone app driven UBER taxi service has started in Geneva. A launch party this week did see some protests from traditional taxt drivers who fear the new service will cost them business.
The service works by users simply summoning an Uber car with an app loaded onto their phone - payment is through the app with a secure credit card payment facility - no cash changes hands.
The costs of an Uber car is around 30% less than a normal taxi - and all Uber drivers are rated by the user - so you can see how reliable a driver is.
Mark Butcher spoke to the General Manager of Uber in Geneva, Steve Salom.
