World Cup mogul winner and five-times French Freestyle Champion Anthony Benna has skied in Megève all his life. We asked the 29 year old if the resort still held any surprises...
“I was born in this region and have skied with the Club des Sports de Megève since 1996, so I know the area pretty well. My favourite skiing? Cote 2000 because the shade in winter creates the best snow – and that’s where I won the World Cup in 2015!
Where to have a drink?
Megève has some great places but my favourite is S Bar where I meet up with friends I’ve known since childhood.
Fancy a day off skiing?
For visitors there are so many activities to try. Snow shoeing, dog sledding, the new Palais with ice skating, swimming, climbing, the gym, tennis, the Spa …
An excellent restaurant, a bar, a club – it’s all there for those who want to stretch out the evening.
What’s so special?
I think there’s a charm that you don’t find everywhere – when you wander through the cobbled streets and see the horse-drawn carriages, the huge pine tree decorated all winter - it’s always surprising. Plus Megève’s a dynamic, sporty village with a ski area that works for everyone, even little ones!”
