Dig It! - Garden dos and don'ts in a heatwave
Hester Macdonald is here to give us some advice on how we might be wasting water and making unnecessary work for ourselves by watering certain established plants or grassy spots.
Did you also know that it does make a difference at what time of day you water your plants? As Hester explains, always head out first thing in the morning or last thing at night to avoid all the water simply evaporating before it even does any good.
It's not a great idea to be planting right now, but it's an ideal time to collect seeds. So if you feel motivated, as likelihood is you're spending a bit of time in your garden or on your balcony space at this time of year, Hester explains the dos and don'ts for your outdoor space during a heatwave.
We briefly touch on those indoor potplants too. Are they too close to a window?
And don't forget to stay hydrated yourself and wear a hat and sunscreen whilst you're outside!
