Catch Burglar Bill

Entertainment // By WRS // Feb. 17, 2017

Who’s that creeping down the street? Who’s that climbing up the wall? Who’s that coming through the window? It’s Burglar Bill!

Catch Burglar Bill

It shouldn’t really work as a feel-good children’s bedtime tale - but somehow it does and Burglar Bill is a charming rogue with a heart of gold. Now he’s back to his old tricks on stage and a brand new audience of children and parents are laughing at his “I’ll ‘ave that” catchphrase and brazen escapades. The Burglar Bill comic production is inspired by the charming illustrations and gentle humour of British authors Janet and Allan Ahlberg. Their beautiful picture book brought the irascible Bill to life for millions of children – and now the stage show is running to rave reviews. Using puppets, songs, music and dance to animate his adventures on the trail of your prized possessions, the tale of Burglar Bill (and his fortuitous meeting with Burglar Betty), is as young today as it was 40 years ago. Bill started his career as a would-be crook, eating stolen fish and chips and drinking a stolen cup of tea - but ended up stealing the hearts of a generation!

Burglar Bill is at the Simply Theatre Studio in Versoix, near Geneva, from March 18-26 2017.
