View from the South: Italian VAT hits Swiss tourism and Ticino brothels fall
Swiss tourism is hit by Italian financial police as high-spending Chinese tourists are charged 21 percent worth of VAT over the border. The money is supposed to be returned before the tourist heads back to China, but this is not happening, hindering Switzerland’s reputation as a tourist destination. Plus, brothels in Ticino are falling like dominoes, with roughly two dozen more shut down. Ticino correspondent Nicole della Pietra has more:
