The sale of modern art archives belonging to Swiss curator Harald Szeemann to the Getty Museum in the U.S. dealt a blow to Ticino’s cultural community this week. And one week after a fire destroyed part of the Swiss-Italian Simplon railway tunnel, a complicated legal mess ensues as three different investigations by Italian authorities are launched. Ticino observers, meanwhile, are keeping a close eye on a highly anticipated meeting in Pontida, in Northern Italy, that could decide the political future of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
