View from the South: Investments in Ticino hockey and custom license plates
The transformation of little Andermatt into one of Switzerland’s top alpine resorts was largely courtesy of the wealthy Egyptian entrepreneur Samih Sawaris, who is now opening his wallet once again to a Ticino hockey team. Also, Switzerland does not allow custom license plates which is why they can be sold at unusual high prizes. Case in point: this week, a set of “TI 10” plates (TI for Ticino) sold for 135,000 francs.
