Foreign Affairs: Gaza report retraction wreaks havoc

Richard Goldstone’s retraction of key findings in his report into the 2008-2009 Gaza conflict is causing a furore. Panellists Ruxandra Stoicescu, Daniel Warner and Stéphane Bussard join WRS’s Adam Beaumont to discuss the fallout from Goldstone’s “bombshell”. The panel also looks at the rapidly unfolding events in Ivory Coast, the deadly reaction to a Florida pastor’s burning of the Koran and U.S. President Barack Obama’s decision to run for a second term:

Goldstone, a former U.N. war crimes prosecutor who led a U.N. inquiry into the Gaza conflict, called on Israeli and Hamas authorities to conduct open and credible investigations into atrocities during their December-January war in the strip. A lack of accountability for war crimes committed in the Middle East has reached "crisis point", undermining any hope for peace in the region, the U.N. human rights investigator charged on Tuesday.
