WRS’s Susan Flory talks to Bineta Diop, President of the NGO Femmes Africa Solidarité (FAS). Diop will be at the French embassy in Geneva this evening to receive the highest order of France—the Legion of Honor. She is being recognized for her work as a peacemaker and defender of human rights, especially the rights of African women. She was on the Swiss weekly L’Hebdo’s list of 100 who “make Switzerland” and last year, her name was found on TIME Magazine’s list of the 100 Most Influential. She is described in TIME as a “mobilizer” of women, the economic drivers of Africa:
