In the wake of the tragic bus accident in Sierre last week in which 28 people died, including 22 children, child psychotherapist Rachel Melville-Thomas talks about how to help kids deal with bad news. She says it’s important to make sure kids feel safe and allow them to feel their feelings:

Hi Rachel, I just wanted to write a quick thank you for all your great work and advice over the years. I first met you with my daughter Cassandra 3 years ago and have listened to and implemented your advice ever since.
We have just moved back to Canada and I wanted to say goodbye and thanks for everything…I went back to your shows about moving and changing schools and I am certain that the knowledge I have gained from you made the transition much smoother than it would have otherwise been. I still check in with your podcasts every week or so - makes it seem like I’m still there myself!!
