A Dartmouth College study of 2 to 6-year-olds revealed that from a very young age, children—and in particular those with parents who drink as little as once per month—not only understand that wine and beer are alcohol, but many also identified it as necessary for a party. Researchers concluded that it is very important to clearly explain to children that alcohol is not the point of socializing, nor is it necessary. (Photo: Keystone)
