Health Matters: Advice on vaccines to guard against cervical cancer

Every year in Switzerland, there are about 320 cases of cervical cancer diagnosed, but there’s a far higher number—5,000 in fact—of pre-cancerous diagnoses that require treatment. A common cause of cervical cancer is the human papillomavirus, or HPV. However, there are two vaccines that can protect against HPV. Dr. Michelle Wright talks about the remedies with Dr. Cate Esson, a sexual health and family planning doctor with the Profa Foundation, which provides services for sexual health and family planning in the canton of Vaud:
