Twenty-nine separate complaints have been lodged against the youth section of the Swiss People’s Party in the canton of Valais, who’re being accused of homophobia. The complaints were made about statements by the young politicians, which coincided with the international day against homophobia. They described gay people as “deviant”.
Gay rights campaigners say the comments were insulting and unacceptable. They say they’re prepared to go all the way to the European Court of Human Rights to make their voice heard.
