Police in Haiti are investigating the death of a Swiss aid worker.

Michel Martin with the United Nations police department said the body of a 45-year-old woman was found Tuesday near the town Grande Riviere du Nord.

She had been working for the Zurich-based Black Rain Group, which operates an orphanage and elderly care center.

The group confirmed the death, but did not comment further ahead of a formal statement.
