A British hiker fell and died whilst walking in the Valais mountains between Mischabel and Saas Fee yesterday afternoon.

The fatal accident comes just days after five German climbers fell and died on the Lagginhorn peak.

The British hiker was accompanied by a fellow walker when he plunged hundreds of meters to his death.

The cause of the accident is still unknown.
