Train passengers stranded in Lausanne

Some 96 passengers bound for France by TGV were stuck in Lausanne last night.

They were unable to continue their journey due to problems with the French rail network caused by poor weather conditions and a strike that led to the unexpected cancellation of two high speed trains in the early evening.

The stranded passengers were put up in civil protection buildings overnight.

A special train scheduled for this morning is en route to take them back to France.
