A train in the canton of Graubünden may have collided with one of two bears in the region.
An engineer with the Rhätischen Railways reported hitting a large animal last night, while traveling between Scuol and Klosters.
The engineer was unclear if the train hit the bear, dubbed M13, or something else.
Officials today did not see signs of a collision or of an injured animal, but the bear was traced to about 300 meters from the crash site, by way of his radio collar.
Officials are observing the bear further for signs of distress, but trackers did not observe the bear having injuries.
A related bear, dubbed M14, died when it was hit by a car in the Südtirol region of Italy.
