The Federal Council will present Brussels with its new plan for reviving the bilateral accords.

Switzerland doesn’t want to automatically adapt its law to the EU’s.

It proposes to set up an office that would supervise the application of the bilaterals in Switzerland.

Its EU counterpart would be the European Commission.

Conflicts would first be dealt with by the supreme courts on both sides and then by a joint commission as a last resort.

Latest echoes suggest the EU is not keen on this set up. The ball now officially moves to its court.
