Bilateral negotiations between the European Union and Switzerland are getting increasingly difficult.
That’s according to Swiss Foreign Minister, Micheline Calmy-Rey. She says the 27 member countries of the EU have begun to have enough of Switzerland’s ‘special requests.’
Calmy-Rey said the EU is getting tired of Switzerland asking for specific solutions to various issues, which is costly and complex.
She warned that Switzerland has some capacity to defend its interests, but that things are changing rapidly.
She was speaking at a conference organized by the European Institute of the University of Geneva.
