Second dolphin dies at Conny-Land

Gray skies had settled over Lipperswil in canton Thurgau on Saturday, where Conny-Land spokesman Erich Brandenberger announced that one of the amusement park's dolphins had died earlier in the week. Animal rights groups have called for three remaining dolphins to be seized from the Conny-Land amusement park in canton Thurgau following the death of the second dolphin there in under a week.

A 30-year-old dolphin died yesterday, just five days after the death of an 8-year-old dolphin on Tuesday. Both died with similar symptoms.

The 8-year-old dolphin died after a techno party last week, drawing criticism from animal rights groups.

A veterinarian told Thurgau prosecutors the similar symptoms point to possible poisoning as a cause of death.

That makes eight dolphins who’ve died at the park in the past three years.

Cantonal prosecutors in Thurgau have opened an investigation.

These dolphins need to be moved/freed!! Obviously, they are not being taken care of! It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out!! No dolphin should be held captive.

Those who pay to see this need to KNOW, this is not entertainment, dolphins need to swim about in a large body of water, not in a tank, espeically this one, it looks cloudy and full of elgae. Clean up your acts and just grow up and find a new past time, dolphins should be free.

These animals are clearly not being properly cared for at this theme park. Small tanks, chemically treated pool-water, and separation from their family pods does not help. Please retire the remaining beautiful intelligent animals to the wild!
