Switzerland has been on my personal GPS for years. It’s a lovely country with fantastic people, and even though I struggle with the language(s) – I speak some passable German, so-so French, and zero Italian – English seems to get me around the country. World Radio Switzerland is a godsend. I love the fact I can keep up with the latest news in my native tongue, which is the worldwide language of business. You should be lauded for providing some a first-class radio station. The quality of the reporting and anchoring is superb and I love the stories they weave. I remember fondly my trips to Switzerland when I played ice hockey in Europe as a 21 year old. Even today, generations later, World Radio helps me connect to your lovely country. It would be shameful if this station is taken off the air. Please, I beg you, rethink your decision, and keep an English gate open so Swiss-loving people like me can enjoy the full bounty your gorgeous country has to offer. I love listening to WRS online even though I rarely visit Switzerland now that I am living in Cape Town, South Africa. WRS is interesting to listen to and very informative. The shows are fun and I especially love The Mix and Kids In Mind.

WRS has been a marvellous aid in helping my wife and I settle into our new home, Geneva. Please don’t close it down. It’s our main source of news about Switzerland. We love WRS.

Cher Monsieur le Président de la SSR-SRG, je vie en Suisse depuis 9 ans. Je paies mes impots ici depuis lors et je paie ma redevance. Mais moi j’aime ecouter la SSR dans une langue autre que celles prévues par la mission officielle de la SRG. Est ce que je n’ai pas droit à écouter le service public aussi en anglais ? et ce n’est pas le devoir de la SRG de servir aussi ces citoyens avec un autre passeport que celui suisse mais qui vivent et paient leurs impots ici ? quel droit s’applique au service public de radio télévision en Suisse ? celui du terroir ou celui du sang ,ou, pour etre plus concret, celui des impots ? No representation if no taxation disent les anglais. Mais s’il y a taxation, alors est ce que j’ai aussi droit à avoir mon service public dans lalangue des organizations internationales que la Suisse se vante d’abriter plus que quiconque autre en Europe ?
