Organisers of the Zurich Film Festival say Franco-Polish director Roman Polanski will collect the lifetime achievement he was due to receive two years ago.
The prize will be awarded on September 27 and a full-length, non-fiction film will follow the tribute ceremony.
Polanski had travelled to Zurich in 2009 to collect the award but was detained at immigration on a decades-old warrant relating to the rape of a 13-year-old girl in the United States.
At the time the Swiss Association of Film Directors and Script Writers called the move “a slap in the face for the entire cultural community in Switzerland.”
