The largest solar power plant in Switzerland will not be built at Birr in the canton of Aargau as planned.

Alstom Switzerland decided not to install solar panels on its factory roof its factory due to high costs.

Promoters behind the project said today’s poor economy meant the project was no longer feasible. It would have cost several million dollars.

Alstom said it regretted the decision and renovation would be considered at a later time.
