It soon will be up to individual MPs to decide the fates of tax deals with the UK, Germany and Austria, as another hurdle was jumped yesterday.

The Economic Affairs and Taxation Committee of the National Council yesterday voted to recommend sealing the tax deals when parliament takes up the issue in its summer session.

Committee chair Christoph Darbellay told reporters he thinks the chances are good, that parliament will vote in favor of the deals, thought the Swiss People’s Party and Social Democrats still have reservations.

If all relevant parliaments approve the deals, they would go into effect next year.
