The Director of the Federal Tax Administration will resign in July, following a scandal involving an IT project dubbed “INSIEME.”
Urs Ursprung will reportedly wave any form of severance when he leaves next month.
He has been suspended since an investigation found violations of procurement laws in the office—signatures weren’t secured for certain bids, for example.
President Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf said Ursprung ultimately held the responsibility for what happened during his watch.
The head of the administration’s IT procurement office was also dismissed for suspicion of violating procurement laws.
The scandal seems to have spurred whistleblowers.
In the last week, the parliamentary financial delegation has seen 7 complaints about financial irregularities in government departments.
They normally see that many complaints in half a year.
