Not enough female executives

The number of female executives in Swiss businesses is still in single digits.

An analysis by executive headhunter Guido Schilling showed the percentage of women in management is just 5 percent, as it has been for the last seven years.

Schilling’s report said the only female CEO was Monika Ribar of logistics firm Panalpina.

About 11 percent of company boards of directors are female.

Early last year the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) published guidelines on best practices hoping to see more women in management roles.

Anne Küng at SECO said at the time the situation of under representation of women had not improved in 10 years.
