The name Wenger will soon disappear from Swiss army knives.
Victorinox, which purchased Wenger eight years ago, will now only use the name Victorinox on knives.
A spokesman says that most consumers make no distinction between the two Swiss brand names, so it now wants to focus on promoting the Victorinox brand.
The name Wenger will still be used on watches and some other products including travel bags and outdoor gear.
The company says its operations will remain unchanged in Jura.

As a collector of both Victorinox and Wenger knives, I was schocked after reading the Press bulletin (January 30, 2013) on the websites of both companies. Both companies have made quality products for more then a century. Though indeed they often looked like each other, their differences made me a very willing collector. Wenger, I will always love you!
