Zurich prosecutors confirm they are investigating Green-Liberal MP Martin Bäumle for breach of official secrecy. 

As he is a public official, acting also as financial chief for Dübendorf, a decision on an investigation must be made by the courts.

Bäumle, who is his political party’s president, allegedly let slip information about a property owner before an important vote on a high-rise project in November last year.

The project was rejected by voters.

The Swiss People’s Party called for Bäumle’s resignation at the time, which he rejects.
